Privacy Policy

Effective date:

The short version

  • Everything you enter stays on your iPhone.Your drinks, your profile and your settings are stored only on the device.
  • No account.You never sign up or log in.
  • No analytics, no tracking, no ads.Hydra contains no third-party SDKs.
  • Nothing is sent to us.HUMANIST runs no servers for Hydra and receives none of your data. The only exception is an email you choose to send us.
  • Apple handles payments.We never see your payment details, your name or your Apple ID.

Who we are

Hydra – Water Tracker (“Hydra”) is made by HUMANIST SRL, Str. Arieșului 4, 550409 Sibiu, Romania, CUI 48176711, Trade Register no. J32/947/2023 (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to the information you enter in Hydra.

What Hydra stores, and where

Hydra stores the following on your iPhone, in the app’s own private storage:

Drinks you log
The drink type, the amount, the time, and whether you logged it in the app or from a reminder.
Your profile
Weight, sex, activity level, the climate you live in, and pregnancy or breastfeeding (asked only if you choose Female). Hydra uses these only to suggest your daily goal. You can also set the goal yourself.
Goal history
The daily goal you had on each day, so past days are compared with the goal you had then.
Settings
Units, the first day of the week, the hour your day starts, your cup sizes, the theme and your reminder times.
Hydra Pro status
Whether Hydra Pro is active on your Apple ID, saved so the app knows it right away. See Purchases.

Some of this, like your weight or a pregnancy, is health information. It never leaves your device through Hydra, and we never see it.

Like all app data, Hydra’s data is included in your device backups if you back up your iPhone with iCloud Backup or to a computer. Those backups are managed by you and Apple; we have no access to them.

What we don’t do

  • Hydra has no account and no sign-in.
  • Hydra has no servers. It does not send your data to HUMANIST or to anyone else.
  • Hydra’s privacy manifest, which Apple checks, declares no tracking and no collected data.
  • Hydra contains no analytics, crash-reporting or advertising SDKs, and does not track you across apps or websites.
  • We do not sell, share or rent personal data, because we do not collect any.

Links in the app (the research Hydra is based on, this policy and the Terms of Use) open in Safari, like any other link.

Reminders

Reminders are local notifications: Hydra schedules them on your iPhone, and iOS shows them at the right time. No push server is involved, and the text of a reminder (for example, how much you have had today) is put together on the device.

Reminders are off until you turn them on. iOS then asks for permission to send notifications. You can turn them off at any time in Hydra’s settings or in the iOS Settings app.

Exporting your data

You can export your drinks as a CSV file. The file is created only when you tap Export, and it goes only where you choose in the iOS share sheet: for example Files, Mail or AirDrop. Once you share it, the file is handled by the app or person you sent it to.

Purchases

Hydra is free to use for logging your drinks and seeing today. Hydra Pro is sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase, as a yearly subscription (with a free trial), a monthly subscription or a one-time Lifetime purchase.

  • Apple processes the payment. We never see your payment details, your name or your Apple ID.
  • To show prices and to know whether Pro is active, Hydra asks the App Store on your iPhone, using Apple’s StoreKit. The answer (Pro active or not) is saved on the device. None of your drinks or profile data is part of this.
  • You manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings, and refunds are handled by Apple. You can restore an earlier purchase from the Hydra Pro screen in the app.

Emailing us

Contact support in Hydra’s settings opens a new email to office@humanist.ro in your mail app. It already contains the Hydra version and the iOS version, and nothing else. Nothing is sent until you send the email yourself.

If you write to us, we receive your email address and your message. We use them only to answer you, keep them only as long as needed for that, and delete them sooner if you ask.

Apple

Hydra is distributed through the App Store. Downloads, payments and ratings are handled by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab). If you have chosen in iOS Settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may give us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. We cannot identify you from them, and you can turn this off in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.

Your control over your data

You can edit or delete any drink in Hydra, change your profile at any time, and delete all of Hydra’s data by deleting the app.

Because your data is only on your device, we cannot see, correct, export or delete it for you. The exception is an email you sent us, which we can delete on request. You still have all your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation. If you have a question or a concern, write to us. You can also complain to the Romanian data protection authority, ANSPDCP (opens in a new tab).

Features that may come later

We may add optional features that work with other services:

  • Apple Health, to save your water there and read your weight or activity;
  • iCloud sync, to keep your data in step across your Apple devices;
  • Weather, to adjust your goal on hot days.

None of these are in Hydra today. Each will be optional and off until you turn it on. Before any of them ships, we will update this policy to explain exactly what it uses and where the data goes.

Changes to this policy

When Hydra changes in a way that affects your data, we will update this page and its effective date. The current version is always at humanist.ro/hydra/privacy.
